        Using a blank metal item of any shape, stamp an image on it and acid etch your image onto the metal. Or you may choose to emboss a design on the metal.  When you apply a special metal patina, your design pop.  Either technique will produce a stunning pendant or link for a special piece of jewelry.

        Step back in time and learn a technique that is hundreds of years old!  You will be creating a double Viking Knit woven mesh that is a flexible and beautiful chain when completed. Use your chain to make a bracelet, necklace or a matching set.  Make your woven mesh using a single color wire or combine colors for a one-of-a-kind look.

We will go over the tools needed to do this project and how to use them.  This class is a good introduction to the basics used in jewelry making.

        3 / 10 / 2012 - Beginning Clay Class

        Jeff Hill from Baraboo will be our guest instructor for this class.  If you've visited his store, you know that he has some incredible clay items he has made.  Jeff will talk to you about how to condition the clay, roll it out and give you some basic information and tips on working with the Kato poly clay.  You will be making a bead in class using the techniques you will learn.  Jeff will bring several samples to show you what can be done as you gain additional skills and knowledge working with the clay.  The clay is included in the class fee.  No material list

        By using a wooden ring clamp you can create a bezel using a flat stone cabochon or any other thin item that is large enough for a pendent.  Embellish your pendant choice with beads - maybe more wire - maybe both!  Create a stunning, funky, or earthy pendant.  This is a great class to explore and expand your talent working with wire.

        Learn to make your own cords with a new twist. The cords can be made with or without beads.  It is great fun and addicting for beaders of all ages!  By simply changing the order of the cord colors or the fibers used, a new look can be achieved each time you make a cord.  Make a special corded necklace to show off a favorite pendant or make a bracelet.  There are so many possibilities!

        The tree of life symbol has been around for as long as anyone can remember.  It is intriguing to most people.  With this project, you will be working with wire and beads to complete this pendant or decoration.  You can choose a preselected kit from us or pick up a materials list and provide your own materials.  Either way - Come join the fun!
